Volunteer Opportunities
Do you enjoy spending time outdoors with children? Kids Ranch welcomes volunteers for Summer Day Camp.
Volunteers may help children tend the garden, explore nature trails, enjoy creative activities, or read together outdoors. Summer Day Camp offers a hands-on, supportive environment where caring adults help create positive, engaging experiences for children.
If you are available for a few hours a week during the summer, we would love to have you join us at camp.

Volunteers play an important role in Kids Ranch programs. During the school year, trained volunteers work one-on-one with children to support literacy development when tutors are available. Volunteers are supported by Kids Ranch staff, are vetted and receive training before working with children.
Volunteering with Kids Ranch is a meaningful way to support children and families through consistent, caring relationships. Time commitments vary, and opportunities are available during the school year and summer programming.
What does it mean to be a Kids Ranch tutor?
“It makes me feel so good inside to work with these kids...As we get to know each other better, we have lots of fun. I can watch the change from a child being embarrassed, maybe, a little defensive or very guarded, to being able to open up to me and share about his day at school. It’s an unbelievably good feeling to watch that change come about.
Before I came here, I was looking for a way to give back in my retirement because my wife and I have been greatly blessed. When I found out about Kids Ranch Literacy Program, I was immediately intrigued. And when I came to the ranch to watch how the kids are being tutored, I was hooked immediately! I also love sharing some of my experiences and my stories with my wife. She gets in on the joy of my experiences with the kids I tutor. I really love being a Kids Ranch tutor!”
