What does a Board Member do?
Depending on availability, board members attend a monthly or every-other-month board meeting, where ideas and guidance help shape the future of Kids Ranch. Board members support the organization in several important ways:
GIVE YOUR TIME
• Participate in board meetings and committee work
• Assist with written communications such as thank-you notes or emails when needed
• Support events or activities at the Ranch as your schedule allows
• Help share accurate information about Kids Ranch within the community
SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE
• Facilitate partnerships with professional organizations and businesses
• Advise board and staff on relevant topics such as literacy, mental health, law, fundraising, finance, public relations, graphic design, technology, or property maintenance
USE YOUR INFLUENCE
• Serve as an ambassador for Kids Ranch in the community
• Help build relationships with potential partners, donors, and supporters
• Share Kids Ranch’s mission and impact accurately and thoughtfully
• Support fundraising efforts in ways that align with your comfort level and capacity
PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT
• Make a personal financial contribution to Kids Ranch at a level that is meaningful to you
• Support fundraising efforts by participating, sharing opportunities, or making introductions when appropriate
• Help ensure Kids Ranch has the resources needed to carry out its mission responsibly
